Rising Stock: HS, Prep and PG

Jadrian “Bam” Tracey, West Oaks Academy–The Class of 2020 guard has a wealth of potential with his bouncy, hard finishing style. At 6-foot-5, he has the look of a big guard who can score and create and really get into the open court and finish.

Widely regarded as one of the top guards in Florida, Tracey has offers from South Florida, Canisius, Murray State, FGCU, and others. His high level skill set and ability to break open scoring runs with his killer instinct have been noteworthy factors of his game this past two seasons. Tracey’s thunderous above the rim finishes, 3-point shooting, and ability to see the floor and create with a point guard’s skill set are the most appealing factors for the Fort Myers native.

Tracey recently scored 28 points and orchestrated the offensive flow for a No.1 SIAA-FL West Oaks Academy team during a recent victory over Central Point Christian Academy HS, including the game-sealing free throws in the final 37 seconds of a game which saw a pair of double digit lead changes.

Koby Isaac, Miami Triple Threat–The 6-foot-3 combination guard has the build, length, and natural scoring acumen that’s translatable to the Division-I level. Isaac also possesses a lost art for the game with his fluid mid-range jumper, an aspect he’s able to lean on as a three level scorer. With an ability to see the court and a fearlessness on his forays to the rim, Isaac has emerged into an effective slasher and crafty around the rim finisher. He is currently averaging 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals under head coach Conor Quigley.

Isaac, who earned an offer from Bryant following his performance during the Hoop Exchange All American Jamboree back in October, has earned an uptick in interest from programs such as Quinnipiac, UMass-Lowell, and Florida Atlantic University. With good elevation on his shot and a proficiency in scoring the ball, expect Isaac to rise in stock during this second semester.

Mamadou Gueye, Central Point Christian Academy–The 7-foot-1 Center has an adeptness for blocking shots and protecting the rim, with multiple games of 5+ blocks thus far this season. He’s become a bit more comfortable with his back to the rim game and scoring with a defender between him and the basket, albeit he’s still raw offensively. One noteworthy tool of his game he’s utilized is his 5-10 foot jumper, a shallow water slingshot that enables him to take other bigs away from the rim. With his massive hands and wingspan, Gueye has no-brainer attributes that pass the eye test and coaches place value on. Playing at a higher level this year has helped him improve and cement his status a shot-altering, shot-blocking threat and key interior cog for the Orlando-based post graduate program.

Solomon Ball, Scotland Campus Sports–The Class of 2022 prospect has shown flashes his sophomore season, with a deft left handed touch and an ability to score it inside and outside. He’s got traditional guard skills with the way he sees the floor and also puts the ball on the deck and creates for his teammates. With a size 14 sneaker, there is definitely upside in the Virginia native as he continues to grow into his body and get better on a day to day basis. His coach-ability and will and desire to get better have pumped promise into his overall stock as well.

Mohammed Wague, Scotland Campus Sports–The Class of 2020 prospect is still relatively new to the game, an aspect indicative of the 6-foot-9, 195-pound forward’s tremendous upside. In just three years of playing competitively, Wague has shown flashes with his superior above the rim finishing ability and wing-like skill set. With an ability to put it on the floor like a guard and also his proficiency around the rim, Wague has surfaced as MM-HM prospect since ditching the soccer ball to devote his full attention to hoops two years ago.

Wague has the attributes to be a consistent threat on the glass, as evidenced by a recent 18-point, 15-rebound performance during Scotland’s thorough throttling of Capital Christian (MD). Wague has the type of defensive tactics that are prioritized at the Division-I level, with his shot-blocking and consistent rim protection. He currently holds offers from UMass, Fordham, Howard, St. Francis NY, Alabama A&M, and several others.

Dorian Jones, Scotland Campus Sports–The Class of 2022 combination guard is another young player who has an innate feel for the game and an instinctive style of play that is a bit beyond his years. He’s got a steady and reliable outside shot and knows how to drive the ball to the rim and absorb contact against bigger players. Possessing adequate speed, handle, and evolving into an instant cog in the running game, the pugnacious 5-foot-9 guard from Baltimore is promising because of his IQ and fearless instinct. As he continues to pack muscle onto his spindly frame, the unique threat should become more deadly as a scorer and leave his stamp on games this season and next. Playing a national schedule, which includes the likes of superpower St. Frances (MD), has been a significant gauge for Smith.

Corey Girton, Bristol Prep (TN)–The bouncy, explosive guard is an electrifying finisher above the rim. He’s got the type of electrifying hops that enable him to turn in plays which only rarefied athletes are capable of. After suffering a wrist injury that limited his shooting hand considerably, Girton has become more of an all around scorer who can beat defenders on dashes to the rim and also balance out his game with a fluid jumper. Girton’s theatrics around the rim aren’t the only factor his leaping ability contributes to. He’s a tremendous rebounding guard and knows how to trigger the souped up attack fresh off a defensive board.
